We’re excited to announce that Sarah Spence, our Founder and Head of Strategy, has been recognised as a Certified Practicing Marketer (CPM) of the Australian Marketing Institute. A CPM is effectively the same as being recognised as a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) in the financial industry. It’s the peak professional designation for marketers in the Asia-Pacific Region.

To qualify you have to have demonstrated consistent professional standing, a high level of knowledge, proficiency and ethics in the marketing industry. As AMI says themselves, “not all marketers are created equal”. That is exactly why AMI only bestows CPM qualifications on those they judge to have met the formal education and successful application of marketing knowledge and skills requirements.

“After completing my Bachelor in Arts (Public Communication) and then a Masters in Applied Linguistics, I thought those proud graduation days were over. But, this feels even better. To be recognised by the peak professional body, not only for my education but (and more importantly) for my on-the-ground experience as a marketer is humbling. I’ve worked in many roles over my career. Each and every one of them with a strong marketing, content and copywriting focus. I’m proud to now bring all of that experience to the table for each and every client Content Copywriting works with.”

One of the best parts about being recognised as a CPM is the continuing professional development opportunities.

Sarah will now have access to a brimming content library of feature reports, monthly webinars and The Growth Faculty – an on demand collection of exclusive webinars and video interviews with the world’s greatest business minds, leading authors, future thinkers, CEOs and execution specialists.

She’ll also be able to attend specialised industry training events to upskill and keep on top of changing trends.

Not to mention being eligible to be a mentor in the Emerging Marketers’ Mentoring Program and to be a judge in the AMI Awards for Marketing Excellence.
