The Challenge
Content Copywriting, now known as Content Rebels, is a content marketing agency in Sydney. We offer strategy, SEO content creation and training services for brands with big ideas.
Back in late 2019, we realised that while we were great at increasing our clients’ online visibility and connecting them with their ideal audiences, we weren’t doing either for ourselves.
At the time, we were getting 100% of our leads through referral sources which meant plenty of work, but a lack of online visibility to gather new clients.
We wanted to test some new techniques for boosting organic search rankings, so we decided to turn ourselves into our own content marketing guinea pigs.
Our Approach
First, we launched a new Content Copywriting website and focused on producing quality articles that were optimised to boost search engine visibility.
We figured out where our ideal audiences were and what they were searching for, then wrote articles to satisfy those search terms.
After six months, we’d had some position movements. Ultimately, though, our Domain Authority was too low to really move the needle. That’s when we decided to invest in consistent, quality link-building.
As our Domain Authority improved, we also published new service website pages that were all optimised for high-volume, high-consideration keywords. And finally, we added some structured data markups to our FAQ content.
The Results
Within 12 months, we’d increased our domain authority from 3 to 21, which flowed through to a 26,000% increase in our web traffic. Now, we rank #1 in Google organic search results for our target keyword phrases, resulting in a substantial volume of highly qualified leads.
With the evolution of our brand, we made the bold decision to rebrand in October 2023 to rebrand as Content Rebels. A name that defines our strengths in digital marketing and the brave and bold ideas we deliver to clients.
